Spotify for Android gets redesigned, is now faster and supports more devices

Spotify for AndroidSpotify's mobile app for Android has received a major update. It has been redesigned, all the graphics have been reworked and they now scale well regardless of your device's resolution, rotation and pixel density. In fact, Spotify for Android now officially supports more devices than ever, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire Z, Huawei U8300, Motorola Cliq, Motorola Cliq XT, Motorola XT720, Samsung Galaxy 3 (Apollo), Samsung Galaxy Tab, Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro, Sony Ericsson X8 and ZTE Blade are also fully supported, so running Spotify on any of them should prove to be an enjoyable experience.

Several bugs have been fixed, including one that made the widget not show correct content, one that made the album art view inconsistent with what was playing, and an issue that resulted in the app not playing the next song. Network connections and re-connections are now faster than ever, and the error messages are more human-readable.

Last, but not least, countless performance improvements should ensure that the app is speedy and responsive at all times.

Spotify for Android is a free download from the Android Market, but you need to be a Spotify Premium subscriber to be able to use it.
