I often get around three dozen iDevice app press releases a day, so why no one bothered to tell me Army of Darkness: Defense was released last week is something for which I’ll have form a Congressional Committee to investigate. In case you missed it, too, here are some details.
Army of Darkness: Defense is a casual tower defense game based on the fondly remembered, often quoted Sam Raimi movie Army of Darkness, starring Bruce Campbell as Ash. It was a sequel, of sorts, to Evil Dead 2, but it was also very much its own thing. Fans will be happy to know Bruce Campbell does supply the quotes from the movie, and even characters such as Lord Arthur and Duke Henry the Red make appearances.
As for the game itself:
In this tug-of-war, casual defense game based on the MGM classic movie, you play Ash, the time-travelling, evil-fighting, S-Mart sales clerk as you defend Lord Arthur’s castle and the Necronomicon from the oncoming hordes of evil undead. Army of Darkness: Defense takes the witty charm of the cult classic movie and combines it with gorgeous graphics and innovative gameplay that is certain to entertain any mobile gamer. So, remember the magic words and make sure your shoelace is tied, because this is going to be an epic battle!
