Software

  • MacTech Magazine has announced that industry legend Guy Kawasaki will give the keynote speech at MacTech Conference 2011, which will be held November 2-4, 2011 at the Sheraton Universal in Los Angeles, California. MacTech Conference is specifically designed for IT Pros, Enterprise, and Apple developers. The event is specifically designed to not only have the highest quality content from experts across the industry, but enhance the “people experience” as an immersive event filled with constant opportunity to network with peers and meet new people.
  • StackSocial has announced a Mac software bundle that includes a stack of 11 hand-picked productivity and utility apps and 1 extra freebie that, if bought separately, would cost $333. This is about 86% off retail.  But their bundle has some secret sauce that users haven’t seen on the bundle circuit for sometime. Namely, they’ve partnered exclusively with Ambrosia Software to offer 4 of their top applications including: Snapz Pro X, Wiretap Studio, iToner 2, and a freebie app, Mondo Solitaire.

  • Dejal Systems, LLC has announced Simon version 3.1, an update to their essential server monitoring tool for Mac OS X. Receive notification of changes, failures, and/or recoveries via various Actions and more. Version 3.1 includes improvements and fixes around scheduling tests and more.   • Mac users can now submit their online auctions much easier with iSale. equinux has announced a free update for its online auction manager iSale adding integration for eBay’s new product catalog. This feature allows users to automatically get every available detail about the products they want. iSale 5.8 also improves the performance and overall eBay integration. Registered iSale 5 customers get the updated version free-of-charge.
  • IdeaSwarm has released AppViz 2.0, a new version of their popular desktop analytics tool for Mac & iOS developers. AppViz helps developers download and visualize their application sales. It features a dashboard that displays an overview of product sales and trends, as well as a graph view for more in-depth analysis. Version 2.0 builds on the feature set of 1.0 and adds many new features including iAds, automated downloading, improved rankings, & support for the forthcoming Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
  • CS Odessa has announced that ConceptDraw PROJECT v6 has gained the capability to import Mindjet MindManager files. Now MindManager users will have access to the extensive project management capabilities of ConceptDraw PROJECT. ConceptDraw PROJECT can import MindManager files that have built with either the Mac or PC based product. MindManager users can now gain access to not only ConceptDraw PROJECT, but also the full capabilities of ConceptDraw Office.
  • Maintain has released Cocktail 4.9.3 (Snow Leopard Edition), the latest maintenance update of Cocktail for users running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Cocktail is an award winning general purpose utility for Mac OS X. It is a digital toolset with a variety of practical features that lets you clean, repair and optimize your system with one click of the button.
  • Pixel Research Labs has released Ringer 1.3, an update to their iPhone ringtone creation tool for Mac OS X. Ringer allows users to choose any non-protected file from their iTunes library or any media file on their system that can be opened by QuickTime and turn it into a unique ringtone. Version 1.3 adds many great new features including 30 pre-made ringtones, improved ringtone quality, ringtone navigator, metadata copying including cover art, and much more.
  • Vin Diesel broke the news on his Facebook page last week that Riddick is likely heading back to the big screen.
