7-inch display to mirror your smartphone
Let's face it, although in-car entertainment systems are getting better, they're simply no match for your smartphone.
And that must be exactly what the boffins at Toyota thought when they were developing the Touch Life system - a seven inch display that can mirror your smartphone's.
Or at least some of it. If you're rocking a Nokia powered by Symbian Belle then you'll be able to make use of the the new industry standard connectivity protocol, MirrorLink, developed by the Car Connectivity Consortium as well as tapping into dedicated car mode applications.
Or, with an iPhone you can use ceratin apps by first downloading the free Application Launcher app from the App Store. This will allow you to tap into Garmin StreetPilot, internet radio, news apps and social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter using the built-in application UI.
You can also control your iPhones media playback using buttons on the Touch Life's screen or ones found on the steering wheel.
The Toyota Touch will be introduced to the Toyota Touch & Go Plus platform soon and will be found in Toyota Avensis, Prius and Versos.
