New iPhone, iPad and iPod touch apps
- Kerubin has announced Paint Easter Egg for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Paint Easter Egg is very simple to use, but carefully designed to give the users the best possible plateau for artstic expression on a smooth 3D egg surface. It is meant for all ages but especially children and creative adults will love this app. Real egg artwork can be easily created and also shared on Facebook or sent by E-mail.
- Ai Squared has announced the release of its iPhone application ZoomReader. Designed specifically for anyone in need of visual assistance, ZoomReader takes a picture of any text, converts the text digitally using Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and reads the text aloud through an integrated voice synthesizer. The ZoomReader app can be used to read small print on a receipt, menu, box or medicine bottle, and is the first and only one of its kind on the App Store designed for the visually impaired that integrates live video magnification with up to 4X zoom, OCR and text-to-speech for the accessibility-friendly iPhone.
- Corbenic Consulting Ltd has announced Car Maintenance Reminder 1.0 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Car Maintenance Reminder triggers text message like alerts on your iPhone/iPad/iPod when it’s time to perform maintenance or checks on your car. Timely regular maintenance saves money in the longer term as it prevents more costly maintenance issues occurring in the future. Alerts are completely configurable and can be triggered by the date and/or the cars odometer reading.
- Big Blue Bubble has announced that Burn the Rope for the iOS fans can now play a new puzzle every day. Players can log in daily to see a fresh, new challenge. Additionally, Burn the Rope fans are invited to submit their original puzzle ideas for development as a Puzzle of the Day.
- Elgato has released EyeTV 1.2.3 and added AirPlay support to the app. With AirPlay functionality, the EyeTV app can sling both live and recorded TV from your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to an Apple TV or third-party receiver with AirPlay support.

Aimed at the general public, Home Design 3D by LiveCAD offers users the opportunity to start creating their very own architectural projects in just a few minutes.
New apps for iPad only
- Beanheads Consulting Inc., has announced the release of Sort Shots - iPad Edition 2.4, the first and only iPad app that allows users to arrange tag words associated with their photographs for easy and dynamic photo tagging and searching. Sort Shots - iPad Edition imports the keywords assigned to photographs via iTunes Folders or FTP using popular photographic software including Adobe Lightroom, Bridge and Elements, Apple Aperture and iPhoto, Nik Software Capture NX and Microsoft Expression Media and Photo Gallery. Users can move the existing or newly-created tags anywhere within the three level tag hierarchy. Arranging tags into a logical order allows users to quickly and easily locate and assign tags to one or more photographs.
- Extend Interactive Co. has announced a promotion on Jigsaw Mansion to help raise money for disaster relief operations in Japan via Red Cross’ Disaster Relief fund. Jigsaw Mansion 2.0.1 offers users fifteen uniquely breathtakingly artistic jigsaw puzzles to play through the instant they open the game. Users are now free to download free or paid puzzle packs directly through its in-app store. The game also features automatic auto-saving to ensure that players never loose their progress.
- ClueTrust has announced full compatibility with the newly-released Apple iPad 2. ClueTrust also invites customers and any interested parties to meet up at the American Association of Geographers annual meeting in Seattle April 12th-16th at the Washington State Convention Center, where they will be exhibiting in booth 410. Given the extensive use of GIS by members of the AAG, the conference is a natural environment to demonstrate the power of GIS on the OS X and iOS platforms.
- Left Coast Logic has released SmartPlans 2, the iPad version of their category-leading creative Task and Project planning tool for individuals, students, and small businesses. Just create a new Project, fill it with some tasks, and flip the iPad sideways to see how long it will take. The new version runs on both iPhone and iPad, and synchronizes data with Toodledo. This allows users to share their tasks with the company’s other productivity apps.
- Cypress Innovations has announced piRAWnha 2.0, an update to their popular image processing iPad app. A true companion for the serious photographer, piRAWnha features both raw developing and post-processing options. Develop, adjust and perfect raw images with piRAWnha for iPad. piRAWnha supports the use of presets and has the ability to create thumbnails for raw files. Version 2.0 introduces a variety of new features to the first app to enable raw processing on the iPad.
- The free ESO Top 100 Astronomical Images app brings users a selection of the best astronomical images taken by a suite of the world?s most advanced ground-based astronomical telescopes from the Atacama Desert in Chile. Together with the European Space Agency (ESA) ESO has also launched the ESA/Hubble Top 100 Images app which features the best NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope images.
- Plastic Mobile has joined Pizza Pizza, Canada’s leading pizza chain, as their mobile agency to help build and launch an iPhone application to make ordering and delivering pizza both convenient and fast. This free app is available for all iPhone models, the iPod touch, and the iPad. The app will let users build the pizza of their dreams; a half order of ham & pineapple and the other half Italian sausage, extra mushrooms, no cheese, and easy on the sauce? All can be done on this app.

- Earth Day is April 22. To celebrate, e-Cycle has declared April National Recycle Your Cell Phone Month to help raise awareness for the growing e-waste problem with mobile devices, and as a reminder for organizations to implement responsible mobile phone recycling programs. As an incentive, e-Cycle is offering businesses and organizations a chance to win one of four Apple iPad2 tablets when they recycle and/or sell their used wireless devices with the company through May 31.
