Call of Duty: Black Ops - Big queues but still available in Game if you hurry

While the game launched at midnight last night (8 November), there are still plenty of copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops in UK stores nationwide. Major videogames retailer Game, which also owns the Gamestation chain of shops, has told Pocket-lint that "it won't sell out on day one".

However, Neil Ashurst, the company's head of PR, revealed that some eager fans had been queuing since Sunday outside Game's flagship store in London's Oxford Street. He also told us that COD: Black Op's design director, David Vonderhaar, rewarded their loyalty after a chance encounter: "He was jetlagged and, while wandering past the store at 4am in the morning, he saw the queue. He asked them what they were doing and, when he found out, vowed to return the next night to sign copies of the game. Which he did".

In total, around 300 people queued outside the store before midnight, and, as a further surprise, Activision allowed Game to open before midnight so that the first few could come in to play the much-anticipated title in 3D on compatible TVs.

However, even if you didn't queue overnight, you should still be able to snag a copy of the game if you hurry.

Call of Duty: Black Opps is available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PC, from ?30 up to ?55.
