Who, where and when to get your bargains this Friday
Traditionally the preserve of our American cousins, Black Friday deals (a US shopping fest that has all the hallmarks of hell on Earth) are starting to seep into the UK, with major companies like Amazon and Apple touting their wares.
Black Friday happens on the Friday following Thanksgiving, and sees thousands of people queuing crowding, barging and bashing their way into shops around the US in a bid to get hold of the latest gear.
Pocket-lint has decided to give a run down of which retailers in the UK are jumping on the Black Friday bandwagon, and whilst we're there we'll also list a few of the major US sites doing the same thing. The post will be updated as and when we see more site's deals come online.
However, we could also do with your help, so whichever side of the pond you're on, make sure you let us know of any Black Friday deals you see online or otherwise using the comments box below - we'll then provide links to all the sites, making Pocket-lint somewhat of a Black Friday hub.
Black Friday deals are also hitting the Apple App Store, check out the full list here.
The Zune Marketplace is also running some Black Friday offers on videos and music, including New Kanye West, and Free Neon Trees Track.
The PlayStation Blog has announced some PS3 bundles as its Black Friday offer, to check it out for yourself click through here.
Photography Bay has just posted an excellent run down on Canon PowerShot camera discounts being run by Amazon and B&H photo. Click through here for the full list.
UK
Amazon - The online shopping giant is doing a week of deals in the run up to Black Friday. Covering pretty much everything you could think of, there are drop down menus to narrow your search. It's also been announced on Facebook that the previous generation Kindle will be available for $89 from Amazon.com, so we presume a similar offer may well be available from its Lightning Deals section for those in the UK - this particular deal begins on Friday.
Apple - Starting Friday 26 November, it's for 1 day only with Apple, so it looks like you'll have to be quick if you're going to get what you want discounted. However, don't get your hopes up as if it's anything like last year, the discounts won't be massive.
Eye-Fi - On Friday, 26 November, 2010, log into your Eye-Fi Center account and you'll be offered the 1-year of Eye-Fi Premium service a ta reduced rate.
SPAR - SPAR is doing big bags of Wine Gums for 99p. Midget Gems too. In store only. Update - There's apparently been a huge rush on Midget Gems at Spar stores around the country, so you'll have to be quick if you're to take advantage of this once in a lifetime offer.
Pixmania - There are lots of deals to be had at Pixmania.com including cameras, televisions and MP3 players. Offers are available now in the run-up to Black Friday, with up to 71 per cent off.
Comet - There's a Black Friday deal at Comet for a 3D TV bundle for ?899 - check out this link for full details.
US
Amazon - Pretty much exactly the same as above, with a wide range of products discounted. There will also be previous generation Amazon Kindles available for $89 on Friday 26 November, on the Lightning Deals section of the site.
Apple - Again, for 1 day only on the 26 November, you'll have a chance to get some money off Apple goodies
Best Buy - The giant tech retailer doesn't look as though its allowing you to get any online deals, so you'll have to turn up to the shop. Tickets will be given out 2 hours before the store opens at 5am - meaning you'll be able to book your entry at 3am - which is an ungodly hour to be up and about.
WalMart - It'll be another 5am opening if you want to get into Walmart, nothing online on Friday
Samsung - Samsung's main website gives info on which of its outlets are offering cut price electronics across its entire range.
AT&T - Buy one handset, get one free. Buy one Windows Phone 7 for $199, get another one free. Starting 26 November, visit your local AT&T store and choose from one of the three new Windows Phones: LG Quantum, HTC Surround, or Samsung Focus. Offer only valid at AT&T stores.
Adorama - Huge amounts of photography gear at discounted prices, deals on now up until 26 November.
Eye-Fi - On Friday, 26 November, 2010, log into your Eye-Fi Center account and you'll be offered the 1-year of Eye-Fi Premium service a ta reduced rate.
