Apps

  • Tabi Software has announced that the mobile version of its popular SlipBox application is now available for download on Apple’s App Store. SlipBox is a no-frills, professional note-taking application with associative searches. It is designed for maintaining large collections of notes over an extended period. Its main feature are its mechanisms to intelligently use the accumulated knowledge with associative searches via information scents - the same mechanism used by human memory.
  • Indie iPhone developer Spielhaus has completely rewritten its first iPhone app. Timr follows the same principles of usability that made the iPhone famous and puts the user first instead of focussing on too many features.
  • Outfit7 Ltd. has released Talking Roby the Robot 1.0, their second free “talking” app for iOS. Roby is a talking, hip-hop dancing robot, who is able to speak words and sentences that the user types on his/her keyboard. He can also repeat anything the user says into the device with a unique robo voice. Talking Roby the Robot is different from other talking apps because it features text to speech in addition to speech detection. It features funny animations of Roby’s reactions, and more.
  • Riptide Games has announced iPrincess 1.4 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. iPrincess lets users fill their photos with princesses by selecting from the myriad princess themed items available. Users can mix and match 30 different princess items to add to their photos, including dresses, hair, wands, jewelry and more. Users can purchase image packs from the rest of the iLook App series. Additional packs will be added all the time for nearly limitless fun and enjoyment.
  • Very Alien Productions has introduced Base Station 1.0, their new base conversion education and productivity app for iPhone and iPod touch. Designed to leverage the iPhone interface, Base Station is a very helpful tool for the professional or student. In addition to its powerful ability to convert both positive and negative integers and real numbers between the most common bases, the app is a great learning tool and offers specific features to enhance productivity.
  • CDE Humble Gaming Limited has introduced iAsteroids 1.0, their new game for iPhone and iPod touch. The user plays the role of a space cadet who forms part of a response team that has been selected to save Earth from an unending barrage of Asteroids, Comets and Meteors. Players will have at their disposal a variety of weapons. iAsteroids is packed with explosive visuals, life-like space scenarios and the iPhone 4’s superior graphics and signature Gyroscope function.
  • Just-Eat has announced Belly & Brain 1.0 for iOS devices. Belly & Brain features popular characters Belly and Brain from Just-Eat’s TV campaign and requires the player to control Brain’s food cannon whilst aiming and firing different snacks into Belly’s mouth to stop his stomach rumbling. ‘Belly & Brain’ is a sideways scrolling game of skill and accuracy set across 126 levels and is based upon three cuisine themes; Chinese, Indian and Italian.
  • glimmerWave software has announced Beam Wars 1.0, a free game for the Phone and iPod touch that changes the rules of board games forever. Red and blue beams sizzle across the board, bouncing from mirrors and exploding from star prisms. Control the Beams, both your Beam and that of your opponent, to strengthen your army and weaken your foe. Beam Wars can be configured for Human vs Human, Human vs Robot and Robot vs Robot game play modes.
  • Hubapps has released Note Hub Professional 2.0, a major milestone to its innovative productivity suite for iPad. Note Hub Professional provides an unprecedented level of integration between documents, including text notes, maps, journals, sketches, task lists, calculators, and a complete web browser, in a seamless, professionally-designed package. The suite sports a full range of export options from email to Dropbox integration.
  • Silverware Software has released Flight Update and Flight Update Pro, its latest major update to its flight status applications for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. These apps allow customers to receive live flight status information for flights throughout the world covering over 4000 airports and 1400 airlines. Many of the features found in Flight Update and Flight Update Pro are exclusive, making them superior to competitive products.
  • Hidden World Hut has announced TwitterBook 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. TwitterBook allows users to quickly and easily post updates to Facebook and Twitter simultaneously. How many times do you want to update your status and cannot decide to do it on Facebook, or Twitter, or both? TwitterBook makes this process easy. We have simplified that process, and connected the two networks in one easy to use application.
  • Tropical Software’s award-winning personal note manager now has note synchronization with Apple touch devices including iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. This new capability builds on TopXNotes 1.5 which modernized the User Interface including a new, taller, customizable toolbar with larger icons, a rewritten NoteOrganizer, two-finger scrolling, new icons, and several cosmetic improvements. Version 1.6.1 is a small update with minor feature additions, changes and fixes.
  • Sunmedia Games Ltd. has announced Flower Garden Logical Game 1.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Flower Garden Logical Game is a very cute and pleasant puzzle game with rich graphics. It combines the best from the old known puzzle games, such the Lines. Version 1.2 adds new colourful flowers and new levels was added in the game., as well as supports Game Center and OpenFeint. Flower Garden Logical Game has relaxing sound effects and addictive gameplay.
  • ShopSavvy 4 hit the iTunes Store today. This marks the official start of the holiday shopping season for the millions of smartphone users who scan product barcodes to find the best deals on consumer electronics, toys, DVDs, video games and more. ShopSavvy’s 6.5 million users are expected to conduct more than 100 million scans between now and Christmas.
  • XCool Apps today announces AppSwitch 1.0, the missing app for iPhone and iPod touch that should have been in the box! The app will be unveiled today at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT on “The Martha Stewart Show” on Hallmark Channel.
  • Sons of Anarchy, FX?s highest-rated series ever, now has its very own app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
