iPhone, iPod and iPad product updates and announcements for November 3, 2010:
Apps
- FileMaker, Inc. has delivered its popular FileMaker Go 1.1 for iPhone and FileMaker Go 1.1 for iPad apps in five new languages in addition to English: French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese. Millions of customers in business, government and education worldwide use FileMaker Pro to effortlessly manage all their tasks. With FileMaker Go, users can view, edit and search FileMaker Pro records on an iPhone and iPad. Databases can be accessed directly from files hosted on FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Server, or database files can be copied locally onto FileMaker Go via File Sharing in iTunes. Users can check inventory in the warehouse, manage event registration on-site, or update project status while traveling.
- BulkyPix and developers Fishing Cactus and Artik Entertainment have announced that RollOut HD and RollOut update are now available for download at the App Store. RollOut is a puzzle game where you goal is to direct Wabba, the game’s star towards the exit. By controlling a myriad of scrolling (right to left) icons on the screen, the player directs Wabba’s path. Wabba starts on the ground floor and it is up to players to jump him to an exit strategically placed somewhere way above his starting position. The complexity of the game racks up with every level, making the game frustratingly enjoyable.
- BookBuddy is a book management application which gives the users access to their entire book catalog directly from their iPhone. It allows to find quickly any book in the library, share favorite books and keep track of the borrowed ones.
- iHomeEducator has released iLiveGrammar Botany 4.0 for iOS. Developed specifically for 1st-4th grade, early readers are introduced to Botany concepts as well as learn basic grammar such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, and conjunctions. Related science and grammar videos are linked in as an incentive for the students. The sentence and answers are tracked for record keeping and can be emailed and blogged, and much more.
