Apple purchases at least 48 new domains

When WWDC began on Monday, Apple made an odd move of purchasing at least 48 new domain names related to its products and services. Strangely enough, many of the domains the company purchased—such as appleversions.com—don’t seem nearly as important as something like ipad.com, a domain the company has still not acquired. Apple likely has reasoning behind the purchases, although I can’t figure out what their intentions could possibly be.
