Apple has released an update for its current operating system Mac OS X Snow Leopard before it releases its new operating system, Mac OS X Lion, next month.?

The new update, 10.6.8, brings?is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac, including fixes according to Apple.

Listed features include enhancing the Mac App Store to get your Mac ready to upgrade to Mac OS X Lion.?Resolving an issue that may cause Preview to unexpectedly quit. Improving support for IPv6, as well as improving VPN reliability.?It also helps identify and remove known variants of Mac Defender.

Those who haven't pressed the update button recently will also be treated to an update for Airport Utility that fixes?an issue that caused the AirPort Utility to unexpectedly quit during setup.
