Roll-out begins on six handsets
During the Samsung keynote over at CES in Vegas in January, attendees were treated to a nice little demo from Hulu CEO Jason Kilar of Hulu Plus running on a Samsung Galaxy S. And now, after months of waiting the Hulu Plus app has finally gone live in the Android Market.
But not for the Samsung Galaxy S strangely - just six handsets have been chosen for the initial roll-out (with a promise of more to come).
Hulu Plus will work on the Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix. The app is free.
Hulu Plus launched for iOS devices back in June 2010. It is also available on the PS3, Bravia setups, Samsung home cinema equipment and Vizio devices, well as on Roku and Vizio machines. In April it landed on the Xbox 360 as well.
It costs $7.99 a month and for compatible Android device owners the service will be free for the first week. Sorry UK readers though - it's just US based, with Hulu shelving its plans to launch on this side of the pond.
There is talk that Hulu is on the verge of a buyout though, with the LA Times naming Yahoo as the potential suitor....
