Printing on the go, wirelessly
Google Cloud Print for mobile documents and Gmail for mobile has been officially unveiled by the Big G - bringing wireless printing to your Android (2.1+) or iOS device, or "most" phones that support HTML5.
"Imagine printing an important document from your smartphone on the way to work and finding the printout waiting for you when you walk in the door," said Tyler Odean of the Google Cloud Print team.
"Just open a document in Google Docs or an email in Gmail in your mobile browser and choose 'Print' from the dropdown menu in the top right corner. You can also print certain kinds of email attachments (such as .pdf or .doc) by clicking the 'Print' link that appears next to them."
Obviously you need your printer to be hooked up to your home network (or wired to your PC) and Mac and Linux users won't be able to join in the fun (can printing be fun?) just yet.
The new feature is rolling out now for English speaking users in the US. To get printing, you will first need to connect your printer to Google Cloud Print.
