Apple hurts the feelings of iPad owners with iOS 4.2 - rotational locks their hearts

Most people are busy updating to iOS 4.2 today - and on the iPad some people are not a happy camper.

Apple hurts the feelings of iPad owners with iOS 4.2 - rotational locks their hearts

Sitting next to their sniper rifles, marshmallows and tents, these not-so-happy campers (myself included) do not like the iPad's rotational lock switch being swapped to a "mute" button ala the iPhone with the new iOS 4.2 update.

Apple has argued that it's to "help developers and make multi-tasking better" - the other argument being that it unifies the iPad and iPhone's switches, which would make sense, until you realise the iPhone is a phone and would make sense to mute it if someone rings you, where the iPad is not a psychopathic murderer that will start making noise in the middle of the night or an office.

But, in Apple's magical, revolutionary wisdom - today is a bigger day for most people to not forget, as now instead of pressing the rotational lock switch, you'll now have to clock the home button twice, slide your finger to the left and tap to lock the screen - wow, it's even easier! ***
