New iPhone, iPad and iPod touch apps

  • Squashabug! is a fun, addictive and competitive game. Its easy to pick up and play, all you have to do is tap the screen when you see a bug to kill it. With Openfeint integration you can compete with your friends around the world with global leaderboards, and achievements to keep you coming back!
  • Mobitics has released Miembro 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch users who have a camera in their device. The application is a brand new business tool, offering users a portable membership creation and monitoring platform, complete with QR code generator and scanner. Users are able to quickly and easily set up and monitor member cards, loyalty programs, funds and points for each customer, right from their devices.
  • SlapAppie has released NYC Trivia 1.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. NYC Trivia offers more than fifteen hundred questions in a trivia format, all of them about New York City. Users learn about New York film, people, landmarks, events, history and more but they do so in a way that’s fun. An homage to the Big Apple, NYC Trivia is the city’s number one and only trivia app providing entertainment and education for tourists and native New Yorkers, alike.
  • Dzine Apps, LLC has released Historical iMarkers 1.0.1 for iOS devices, offering the most comprehensive database of historical markers available. Users are able to find roadside markers for any area, read or have the app read the description aloud and share the information via email. Data comes from participating State Historical Preservation Offices, the National Register of Historical Places, as well as sites and users who contribute information.
  • Jung Disk has released Dotori Player 1.2 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The application makes it easy for users to access live broadcasts, remote videos and multiple document types, without having to convert them to device friendly files. Dotori Player also provides subtitle and closed caption support, as well the ability to organize and adjust files. All files are transferred via WiFi, without the need of a USB and controls are simple finger gestures.
  • Monte-Lingual 1 to 10 has gone “Lite” and is available for download on the App Store for free. In addition, Continuous Integration, Inc. has also provided an update to the full paid version that is available for download on the App Store. Monte-Lingual is a series of educational games based on the Montessori teaching method for preschool and elementary school children. The new version addresses some minor bugs from the initial release and also adds full landscape mode support.
  • Eio apps has introduced Mixeroo for iOS. Mixeroo is a musical app that gives children control over the instruments in the mix of a song. It provides a fun and educational way to explore and experience music by allowing children to hear the individual elements of a song and change the balance between them. Each instrument is associated with a brightly colored fader that invites them to see what will happen when they take something away or put something back.
  • Fingerlab Studios has announced a sale on Multipong for iOS. Created for use on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, Multipong is a technically updated multidirectional offshoot of Pong, perhaps the most famous videogame of all time. Featuring well polished graphics, a variety of stadium themes and the capability to allow for dynamic live multiplayer action. Multipong supports up to four players at a time on iPad and up to two players on iPhone and iPod touch.
  • ComPart Multimedia has introduced ItalyGuides: Rome Travel Guide for iPhone, the second in their series of internationally acclaimed audio/video travel guides. ItalyGuides has sought to reinvent the stale, academic, audio guide, and replace it with a new, cinema inspired app featuring a filmic musical score, professional narration, creative scripting, and dramatic still and video images. The app presents 55 different points of interest in Rome, and includes over 290 images, maps, and video.
  • Convershakn, LLC, has announced the release of its first interactive family entertainment app for iPhones, iPods, and iPads that helps families improve their communication. Convershakn 1.0 generates age and gender-specific questions about school, friends, values, goals, faith and many other topics. In the car, on a walk, waiting in line, waiting for a table for a meal at a restaurant, or simply at home anytime, Convershakn is very flexible, as you can use it with one child or groups of children.
  • BadOnlineDates.com has launched its new BadDates iPhone app, where users can post their hilarious bad date stories right from their phones in real time, connect with others, watch hilarious Bad Date TV webisodes, and much more. Users can share their own experiences and read others’ encounters with dating disasters. This fun and easy-to-use app is the mobile component of the BadOnlineDates.com website and provides fresh, user-contributed content that is sure to entertain.
  • iHomeEducator released iLiveGrammar Winter 4.0 for iOS on January 14, 2011. Developed specifically for 1st-4th grade, early readers are introduced to winter earth science as well as basic grammar such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions. Related science and grammar videos are linked in as an incentive for the students. The sentence and answers are tracked for record keeping and can be emailed and blogged.
  • EuroSmartz has announced version 1.8 of PrintBureau and PrintCentral, their flagship apps the iPad and iPhone. PrintCentral and PrintBureau bring a major break through in printing documents, email, web pages and much more to the iPad and iPhone. With the latest version of either PrintCentral or PrintBureau, device owners will now be able to print directly to most existing wireless printers from any app that supports AirPrint, without the need for an ePrint enabled printer.
  • Melissa Finley, LMT of Mending Hands Massage Therapy has announced Anatomy In Motion 1.0 for iOS. Anatomy In Motion features over 225 unique muscles with 100 action animations, showing the muscle movements. Users can isolate each muscle individually to clearly view the attachment to the skeleton. With over 450 flashcards, users can explore muscle layering, from the skeleton to the most superficial layer.
  • Jet Set Games has announced that Chapter 2, the eagerly anticipated update to Highborn, is now available as an in-app purchase for the iPhone and iPad. Highborn Chapter 2 adds eight new missions, multiple new features, and plenty of off-the-wall stories and dialogue. The new content can be purchased in Highborn (iPhone and iPod Touch) for $.99 and in Highborn HD (iPad) for $1.99.
  • Atakamalabs, in conjunction with Free App a Day (FAAD), has released Today I Die Again for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch completely free. Today I Die Again is a complete rewrite of the IndieCade Jury Award winning title Today I Die, also by Daniel Benmergui, which takes the player through a thought provoking adventure using words as means to action. The scene opens underwater with the body of a dead woman floating lifeless in the dark. The rock tied around her waist suggests that her demise was no accident. A poem floats above her: ?hopeless world / full of shadows /today I die?
  • With TARMAC, you are already prepared for Apple?s new iOS 4.3 update. equinux has introduced TARMAC 1.4, an expanded update to their server solution to ease and automate the rollout and Mobile Device Management of iPhones and iPads in large installations. TARMAC 1.4 has not only been expanded to include Mobile Device Management (MDM) functionality but also is ready for the future release of iOS 4.3. With TARMAC, Apple devices can be configured over-the-air (OTA) using automatically generated personalized user profiles. With the addition of Mobile Device Management, these devices can now be maintained and managed from the same central location.
  • The Fox in Socks app is now available on the App Store for $3.99. In this story, Dr. Seuss introduces two delightfully funny characters, Fox and Knox, who converse almost entirely in rhyming tongue-twisters. Together they enjoy rhymes that grow in complexity. Jump in and join the fun, but take it slowly because this book is dangerous for your tongue!
  • RentClick.ca is the first Western Canadian company to offer an iPhone app that conveniently allows customers to view rental listings for apartments, condos, houses and vacation properties on their mobile device. Renters can quickly view the following information for each listing: monthly rent, available date, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, community name, address, square feet, parking, pets, smoking, area amenities, listing ID number, a detailed property description and the landlord?s contact information. Additionally, Property Management companies can feature their listings under the Property Manager tab.
  • Spil Games has just announced the third monthly winners of its pioneering HTML5 coding contest?three new games joining the growing list of titles available to play on a range of mobile phones. Spil Games? HTML5 contest was launched to drive the adoption of HTML5 development and gaming. The winning developers receive cash prizes and the prestige of having their games played by the largest casual-gaming audience in the world. The contest runs for six months, and each month Spil Games awards prizes of $7,700.

New apps for iPad only

  • Taxsoftware.com has announced that an application for federal form 1040 tax year 2009 is now available for free on the Apple iPad. The return can be completed entirely on iPads and transferred to PCs or Macs. A lot of users need to file late returns or amend previously filed ones. This is a simplified version, very easy to use, and offers a service that no other tax software company is offering right now.

New accessories
