Super sequel leak ahead of MWC
Spec sheets for three new HTC handsets have been leaked all over the interwebs ahead of their official unveiling over in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress, which kicks off on 13 February.
We've heard whispers of a dual-core HTC handset before, codenamed the Pyramid, and it looks as if this could land as the HTC Desire HD2, which is undoubtedly the pick of the leaked bunch (although there's no mention of 4G, so it maybe that it is the codenamed Saga).
And that's because it's supposedly packing a Qualcomm 8260 Snapdragon dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 3D acceleration, 512MB of RAM, a 4.3-inch, 960x540 Super LCD capacitive screen and an 8-megapixel camera with AF, digital zoom, image stabilisation, geo tagging and an LED flash.
It can also shoot 1080p video at 30fps and has HDMI-out for watching back on your big screen TV.
8GB of on-board storage is said to be included, with a microSD option and connectivity is HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The Desire 2 is also apparently packing a Snapdragon chip, but not a dual core one - instead it gets the 8250 1GHz with Adreno 3D acceleration. How very last generation, we know.
The screen is Super LCD like the HD2 but 3.7 inches (800x480), and the camera is just 5 megapixels, although a front facing 2-megapixel one is mentioned too.
Other details include 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage and 720p video shooting.
The budget friendly, but popular, Wildfire gets a sequel too - with a Qualcomm MSM 7227 600MHz chip (with Adreno 200) inside, the same 384MB of RAM as the original, but an improved capacitative TFT display at 320x480, as well as a 5-megapixel camera.
To see if these leaked specs (which originate from Expansys by the way) prove accurate make sure you keep your eyes peeled to Pocket-lint for all the Mobile World Congress news, analysis and opinion over the next few days.
