TabCo announces the JooJoo mk.II: Grid 10

An Android tablet, kind of....
TabCo announces the JooJoo mk.II: Grid 10. Tablets, Fusion Garage, JooJoo 2, Grid 10 0

If at first you don't succeed....try again with the same team and some wacky alternative ideas? That seems to be the thinking of Fusion Garage who has admitted that it is the mysterious TabCo and that its Grid 10 tablet is now alive.

The Grid 10 is an Android tablet with a difference. In that it's not really an Android tablet at all. It's based on an Android Kernal, but includes its own "cluster" based interface on top.

In fact, despite the Android back engine, Google got quite a kicking from Chandra Rathakrishnan, CEO of Fusion Garage, who accused Android tablets of copying and stating that the Grid 10 offers a "Chromeless browsing experience". Bing is the search engine on board. Miaow.

Fusion Garage will hope that it enjoys better figures than the original JooJoo, which initially only had 90 pre-orders, of which 15 were cancelled. No wonder its prepared to give those customers a free Grid 10. The prospect of an Nvidia Tegra 2 powered experience works in its favour we suppose.

Out on 15 September in the States, the Grid 10 will cost $499 for the Wi-Fi-only version and $599 for a WiFi / 3G model. There's also a Grid 4 handset, but we don't really need to go there do we?

If you do care, the 4-inch (800x480) handset has a Qualcomm dual-core processor and 16GB of storage. It will cost $399 unlocked Stateside with availability in Q4.
