HP's new VP of Worldwide Developer Relations: Richard Kerris

At tonight's developer event HP introduced their new VP of Worldwide Developer Relations, Richard Kerris. He comes to HP from Lucasfilm, where he became their CTO in 2007. While at Lucasfilm, Kerris was named by Variety as one of the "Top 10 Innovators to Watch." Before that, Kerris worked at a company that Jon Rubinstein referred to as "that other company," (i.e. Apple), where he was a senior director of developer relations. Kerris was on the stage for only a few minutes, giving a bit of a pep talk to the hundreds of developer present, stating that there's going to be some rough patches before things get better. We take that to mean "Yeah, it's going to be a while before the HP Veer, Pre 3, and TouchPad are out to run your new apps." Either way, welcome to HP, Mr. Kerris, we're sure you'll do great things.
