You know the Mac App Store launched today. You may not know how to get it on your Mac. If you are eager to get your apps, but you do not know how to do it, have no fear. This visual walkthrough will help you to get your software store in no time at all.
The Mac App Store comes as an update for your system. It is really easy to get. First we begin by clicking on the apple in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Now that you have the Apple menu open, select “Software update…” and the system will begin to check for updates.
You can install them all, but if you are short on time (or battery life) then you can just run the one for the Mac App store. It is called “Mac OS X Update Combined.” To select it, just be sure that the box next to that entry is checked. Un-check any boxes next to the updates that you do not want to install right now. The updates will begin to run. It will not take too long.
When the system prompts you to, restart the system by clicking on the button labeled “Restart.”
Once the system has restarted, you will see a new icon on your doc. This is your Mac App Store.
Double click to open it and begin your downloading adventures.
