Star Wars Blu-ray now on pre-order

If you know your Wookies from your Banthas and you still fiercely guard, or possibly even play with, your prized action figure collection, then you'll be pleased to hear that the complete Star Wars saga is coming to Blu-ray in September 2011, and is now available to pre-order on Amazon.

The news was confirmed at a CES press conference attended by Sith Lord Darth Vader himself. Flanked by an army of storm troopers, Vader, along with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment president Mike Dunn, announced that the long awaited sci-fi flicks will finally be making their Blu-ray debut in September this year and will be available in three sets.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a 9-disc set that includes all six films and comes with a price tag of ?69.99, while you can pick up the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy separately for ?33.99 each.

The discs will include more special features than you can shake a, er, light saber at including? never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes and an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives.

We'll be getting our pre-orders in faster than the Millenium Falcon on the Kessel Run.
