ITV Player beta launches on Freesat

Freesat viewers with a Humax Foxsat-HD box can now access the ITV Player directly through the EPG after a beta trial of the video-on-demand service was announced.

The move follows the addition of the BBC iPlayer to Freesat boxes last year as well as the full Red Button service from the BBC earlier this year.

ITV Player has programming from ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4, with a 7-day catch up service on offer - so you'll have no excuses for not knowing who Mark or Kirk are shagging on The Only Way is Essex.

Freesat MD Emma Scott said: "The launch of ITV Player on Freesat is another important landmark for us. It’s fantastic that we can now offer viewers the two biggest catch-up TV services, direct to their TVs.?

"This is a further example of innovation that focuses on adding value to the viewer - making it easier to find and enjoy the TV they love, for free. Whether it be catching up on the events in Weatherfield or following the Rugby World Cup, Freesat customers can now enjoy the best of ITV schedules, whenever they want."

ITV Player is on channel 903 - you'll need to be plugged into a broadband connection with a decent speed for it to work and it will be coming to non-Humax boxes in the future.
